You’re heading out for the great South Island road trip. We love it. And being outside of Christchurch is no excuse for bad coffee, so whether you’re heading to Kaikōura, Nelson, or the deep south, there’ll be an establishment not too far away selling Switch Espresso. And if they’ve got Switch Espresso, that means we’ve helped train their baristas, so you know you’re in for a quality coffee.
Waimakariri : Flick the Bean
This cheeky café is right next to Challenge Waimak near the old Waimakariri bridge, serving muffins, scones, sweet treats and awesome coffee. The perfect first stop to fill the fuel and coffee tanks on your road trip north.
Amberley : Little Vintage Espresso
This cute little spot is an Amberley institution, and the sweet treats are out of this world. Well worth a drive out or a stop on your way north, and you know you’ll be rewarded with excellent Switch coffee for your efforts.
Kaikōura : Flo & Co Café
Enjoy a Switch BB-IV coffee alongside some of the stellar food at this friendly café in a stunning location. Smack bang in the heart of Kaikōura. While you're there, try the espresso martini, we know you'll like it!
Geraldine: House of Hop
They brew their own beer but when it comes to coffee they leave it to the experts – Switch Espresso! Hop into the House of Hop for one for the road (coffee, of course) and six for the fridge.
Nelson : Comida Café & Restaurant
Prego Mediterranean Foods and Comida Café & Restaurant have been running with Switch Espresso for yonks now, and it’s a stonkingly good place to stop if you’re heading up to the sunny tip of the South Island. They sell a cracker range of olive oils, cheeses, pastas and their own special blend of Switch coffee, ‘Nero’, by the bag.
Twizel : AJ's Kitchen
If you’re looking for an amazing Switch Espresso in Mackenzie Country then AJ's Kitchen is your stop, and they serve up some tasty cabinet food.
Wānaka : Ritual Espresso Café
If your question is “Can I get Switch Espresso in Central Otago?” the answer is “You can get a flippin’ fantastic Switch Espresso in Wānaka at Ritual Espresso.” You’ll never go wrong here looking for a solid brunch and fresh cabinet food – and all the eggs and bacon are free range!
Arrowtown : Postmasters Cottage Café
Just a scenic 20-minute drive from Queenstown you’ll find the lovely settlement of Arrowtown, and more importantly you’ll find Postmasters – packing everything from tea and scones to burgers and beers, and of course Switch Espresso. Finish the evening off with a liqueur coffee and some seasonal fruit crumble.
Te Anau : Wapiti Bakery & Café
When you find yourself on a Fiordland adventure, drop into Wapiti in Te Anau for a good time, good tucker and Switch Espresso. The café is outdoors-themed, with deer heads, antlers and local maps on the walls. They bake all their own stuff in house (and do bread for local restaurants), and specialise in easy grab-and-go food for adventurers on the run – pies, sandwiches and lunches.
